Everything about reaching Corbett runs through Ramnagar, the gateway town on the park's southern edge. All the safari gates are within an hour or so of Ramnagar, and the town has the railway station, the forest department offices and most of the transport, so plan your journey to land there.

By train. Ramnagar (station code RMR) is a terminal station with direct services from Delhi and several other cities. The most convenient options are the overnight and early-morning trains from Delhi — the long-running link and express services that connect the capital with Ramnagar cover the roughly 240–260 kilometres in about five to seven hours, letting you sleep on the train and arrive in time for a morning safari. Ramnagar also has rail links toward Moradabad, Bareilly, Lucknow, Dehradun and beyond. If you cannot find a suitable direct train, Moradabad Junction (about 90 km away) and Kathgodam are larger railheads with onward road connections. By road. Corbett is one of the most popular self-drive and taxi weekend escapes from Delhi and the wider National Capital Region, precisely because the road journey is manageable. The route runs from Delhi through Hapur, Gajraula, Moradabad and Kashipur to Ramnagar — roughly 245–260 kilometres depending on your start point, typically six to seven hours by car allowing for traffic and a tea stop. Regular buses also run to Ramnagar from Delhi's Anand Vihar terminal and from towns across Uttarakhand and western Uttar Pradesh. From Ramnagar, the individual zone gates are a short further drive: Bijrani's Amdanda gate is on the town's edge, while Dhela, Jhirna, the Dhikala (Dhangarhi) gate and the more distant Durga Devi gate are spread out to the north and along the reserve boundary.

By air. The nearest airport is Pantnagar (PGH), about 80–85 kilometres from Ramnagar, which has a limited and changeable roster of domestic flights; from there it is a two-to-three-hour road transfer. Dehradun's Jolly Grant airport is another regional option, roughly 145–160 km away. For most travellers, though, the practical air gateway remains Delhi (DEL), about 250–260 km away, from where you continue by overnight train or by road. Always confirm current Pantnagar routes before planning around them, as the schedule is thin.

Getting around and into the park. This is the important part: you do not drive your own vehicle into the national park. Wildlife viewing is done only on organised safaris in authorised vehicles, with a registered driver and a nature guide, entered through the relevant zone gate on a booked permit. The two vehicle types are the open jeep (a Maruti Gypsy seating a small group) and the larger shared canter (an open bus used mainly for the day run into Dhikala). Within Ramnagar itself, cycle-rickshaws, autos and taxis cover the town and can run you out to the gates, the falls and the temples. If you are staying at a lodge along the river belt, transfers to your booked gate are usually arranged for you — confirm this when you plan, because gate timings are fixed and you cannot enter late.
